12th December 2019 offered an immensely valuable opportunity for the engineering undergraduates of University of Moratuwa to explore deep into a device that revolutionized the power system, under the guidance of an exceptional individual in the power industry in Sri Lanka.
The event was none other than the Guest Lecture on Transformers and Transformer Protection, organized by IEEE IAS SBC of University of Moratuwa, which was facilitated by the brilliant engineering professional and entrepreneur, Eng. D. G. Rienzie Fernando, Founder of Amithi Power Consultants (Pvt) Ltd.
Eng. Rienzie’s decades of experience at Ceylon Electricity Board, followed by his venture of Amithi Power Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, as well as his service to a multitude of countries around the globe made him the ideal icon to provide inspiration to all participants to become more than they ever dreamed. With his outgoing and friendly personality, Eng. Rienzie captivated the participants in an elaborate discussion that covered all the way from transformer internal arrangement to transformer protection.
Undoubtedly, the two hours with Eng. Rienzie was a memorable moment for all engineering undergraduates present there, and it was evident that they were inspired by his unparalleled expertise.
