The PCB (Printed Circuit Board) is something that Electronic and Electrical Engineering undergraduates constantly deal with in their undergraduate careers. Whether it is a design project or even an exhibition, PCBs always come in handy. Nevertheless, it is necessary that the design of a PCB is done in the most efficient manner in order to come up with the most compact design without compensating its error-free operation.
In order to guide the engineering undergraduates on the design aspects of a PCB, the IEEE IAS SBC of University of Moratuwa organized a PCB Design Workshop on 27th February 2020. The session was facilitated by Mr. Dakshina Shakya, Senior Electronic Engineer at Paraqum Technologies Private Limited.
The session began with an introduction to what a PCB is, followed by the principles of PCB Design. Then came the much-awaited part where the participants got hands-on experience creating a PCB Design through the Autodesk Eagle software under the guidance and support of Mr. Dakshika Shakya.
The session concluded on a high note amidst positive feedback from many.
