SOLIDWORKS is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) application published by Dassault Systèmes. It is built for the goal of building 3D CAD software that is easy-to-use, affordable, and available on the Windows desktop. SOLIDWORKS provides simulation tools for testing ideas in a virtual environment for gaining insight into potential performance and durability, handy for designers and engineers. IEEE Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa had organized a workshop on SOLIDWORKS software on 27th and 28th November 2021 from 6.00pm to 7.30pm via Zoom platform.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Pasindu M. Jayanayake who is a final year undergraduate in Department of Mechanical Engineering in University of Moratuwa. More than 200 participants have joined the workshop to learn about this simulation platform for solid modeling. Everyone who participated for the workshop gained a precise knowledge of using the SOLIDWORS software and the applications of it.
